Gaelic Sìth Peace Poem by Kimberly Burnham

Gaelic Sìth Peace

Sìth sounds like she
the end of war
a coming of order
of calm

Fois sounds like fosh
tàmh like tavf
restful easy peace
the leisure of a long summer
weekend

The stillness and quiet
of peace held in sìochaint
a quiet evening at home with family
sàmhchair a peaceful evening
everyone pacified sìthich
and sìthell feeling peaceable

A night full of fairies
sìth or sìthiche
dancing on the sìthean
fairy hill
robust with community
enjoying a warm breeze
twinkling with fireflies
