Gamers And Loners - Poem by Kevin Patrick

Click, Click, Click
Is the sound of your fingers on player self-absorption
As you sit on the edge of the couch in your cave
Developing a slightly gratuitous addiction
While forgetting the last time it was when you bathed
Parked alone on the thrown, spewing electrical B.O
In the modus operandi of stained t shirts and boxer shorts
Dissing everyone on wi-fi communicating antisocial
Behavior that is patterned on breastfed chicken trolls

“Oh YAH, LOL you got that one pawned”

Stale Potato chips stack, on a second hand table
As the air in the room has growing faintly musty
In a way that suggest you’re aesthetically disabled
Like an chimp imitating a homo sapient monkey
Exploding in triumphs when you reached the next level
Stealthily moving through creepers and 3d gangsters
Outstretched in the huddle of the realm of hardcore
Hacking cheap cheats as the clock hands are LARPING

'It’s a win its win” you’re the master of the universe!

But your complexions unsettling with lack of full sleep
With Eyes of cold meat like the zombies you kill
Though it’s hard to distinguish the living as the sheep
When the dead have a purpose and a mission to fill
Gut munching on Red Bull, keeping Pizza Hut speed dialed
Sucker punching PC graphics in the Uber geek Leisure
It must be exciting to have the world and still hide
Unwinding that aggression beating on your hard drive

“Jackpot! Gold! Now man up BOOM! BOOM!

With a push of a button you’re a kung Fu assassin
A kickboxing maestro with prize-fighting gusto
Gesticulating fingers for computational maneuvers
Full of sound and explosions signifying nothing
Except the hollow swagger of soundproof adolescence
Spending twelve hours a day for type 2 diabetes
For tetanus in cramp and blood pressure at breakfast
So cease fully the day you automaton hen
Getting lost in the clock of binary lands

Cause

in the end
Your always free
To die the way
you always lived
A gamer and a loner
Now always a loner

Great write, hard hitting and damning and honest and sadly true for so many individuals. Should be a health warning on pc games. (Report) Reply
