Garden Lessons Poem by Jan Freundschuh

Garden Lessons

I didn't know there was a red tulip
Planted among the Lunaria's purple?
A volunteer?
No, bulbs don't 'volunteer'.
Somehow it must have been planted there.

Oh wait!
I guess it's not what at first I thought.
I've jumped to conclusions again, Mr. Cardinal! ! !
(As you fly away) .

I fail again to remember
These 'garden philosophy lessons'
I've been taught.

Oh well.......nice seeing you....
Red Sir.
