Garmisch-Partenkirchen Poem by Susy Evelyne

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Such good memories of Garmisch -
Not least of the name,
And all of the wonders we found
When we came:

The Bavarian mountains, the flowery meadows,
Hay-making farmers who smiled for our photos.
Those sapphire-blue gentians way up on the plateau.

And our walks in the forests - the scent of the pine;
Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte, the Bier and the Wein...
And the Dame in the Merc, so amazingly kind -

For she picked up us girls on the way to our train,
With our studenty bags, but she didn't complain.
So yes, I hope to go back there again

To Garmisch-P.
May it one day be.

Nice one Susy. I've been to Germany, with a band I was once in - not the pretty area though.
