Gathering Of School Memories Poem by Marilyn Lott

Gathering Of School Memories

Rating: 5.0

Even though the school closed
So many years ago
Students from this school meet
Friendships need to flow

“Remember how it was, ” they ask
“When we were oh, so young”
Chairs and tables by the trees
Where the US flag always hung

So much news to catch up on
For nothing stays the same
“Meant to send a Christmas card”
But no one is to blame

They’re feeling pretty happy that
They are blessed to be on earth
Time has not been so bad, you know?
A long time now since birth

Perhaps you took time this summer
To visit with your classmates too
Gathering for school memories
So special friendships can renew!
