Upon Your Gaze
I lay my heart,
so sweetly and strangely divine,
there is in it that ever draws me near
and even nearer in each thought,
At night I count the stars,
compare them to that of your gaze
I say I can despise the stars
In exchange for your gaze
and if I get luckier…
win your embrace.
Your melancholic smile that came with it
Has been etched perfectly in my soul...
and if ever it did not succeed to conquer my all
dearest…it leaves my heart in a helpless sprawl
Henceforth, each recollection of this divinely love
Is a feeling and a thought higher than
each of them I felt above...
