Gazing At The Midnight Moon Poem by Mohammad Younus

Gazing At The Midnight Moon

Gazing at the Midnight Moon,
Amidst its Stars' embrace,
I yearn not for the Midday Sun,
In summer's blazing face.

Many crave to glimpse
Reality beyond this worldly scene.
I ponder, why does seeing Him,
In His wondrous forms, seem so keen?

Yet, that Sweetest Being
Cannot be denied,
Like the moon's gentle glow,
Amongst stars that brightly abide,
Or the sun's radiant show,
With warmth and light supplied.

Lovers find His presence
Deep within, with eyes divine,
Sparkling with moon's luminous light,
And the sun's radiant shine.

I too dream deeply,
As every lover might,
To embody His sweetness entirely.
Nay, rather, I dream to simply Myself be,
For in my essence, divinity does reside.
