Gedachtenis Poem by Frank Ammerlaan

In the Netherlands a special foundation is placing remembrance stones (called stolpersteine) to commemorate the innocent Jewish people murdered by the nazi´s. They are placed in the street, close to the place where the victims used to live.

The stones from the photograph with this poem are placed close to the square (Statenplein) in Dordrecht, where we received our royal family earlier this year on King´s day (april 2015) . The stones are placed in the street called Statengang. If you happen to be in Dordrecht near the square, see if you can find them: -)

Notice the dates on the middle stone. Flora was in her twenties when she was murdered. The whole family died the same day. Maybe they were gassed the day of arrival?
