Genetic Thinking - Poem by shimon weinroth

echoing out of the past
72 genes hanging on a chromosome
all vied to make you

some survived
as others died
ghosts of a different era

in pools unremebered
unsung
the victims of selection

elected, became one among many
the struggle goes on
to copy and write the history
