George's Promise Poem by George Harrison

George's Promise

Rating: 5.0

To one who bears the sweetest name
And adds luster to the same
May I forever keep you, there will never be another
Who will take the place of my dearest lover
Though I sometimes flirt, and occasionally may tease
Being apart from you would make my heart freeze
Through thick and thin, sickness and health
Stormy times, poverty and wealth
I promise you now my faith will be undying
For when I'm with you my emotions are flying
When I'm with you I love and laugh
I've finally met my better half
Just don't be too blind to see
I love you like a goddess, there will be no manipulation from me

I wrote this 19 years ago in the Marine Corps knowing one day I would find the girl of my dreams. Her name is Kristin Davis

How sweet, I love that you wrote this nineteen years ago not yet knowing who you sought, and I'm so happy you found her. Very romantic piece of poetry, lovely. Peace, L&T
