Get A Life Poem by Ray James

Get A Life

If you gave life a chance
Would you do it right the first time?
Would you take your sweetie dancing?
Would you give her a ride of her life?
Would you give her a big surprise?
Despite all evil:
Would you merry your high school sweetheart?
Would you rodeo tonight?

Chorus: Is it love at first sight

If you gave life a chance
Would you do it right the first time?
Would you give life a chance?
Would you see what is important in your life
Would you turn away from the wicked ways of life?
Would you give your life a chance?
Would you let the world say:
What is in his eyes that makes his eyes sparkle?

Chorus: Is it love at first sight

That we should give life a chance.
The way we carry our-self in the moonlight
The way we make the ladies smile all night
The promises we keep.
The solutions that we make.
The resolutions that we seek
Are divine promises to keep.
So lets' rodeo all night and get a life!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Get a life is something that started with me when I heard that comment mentioned to me from George Herbert Bush who used to be a Governor of Texas. Making promises is something we strive for...Garth Brooks is one who I often consult with for proposals...A Commitment in a relationship is always recommended.
