Ghastly, Never Fatal Poem by *Tony Cemaluk Egbuonu

Ghastly, Never Fatal

Frightening to behold,
The event. The accident.

Metal twisted,
Motor affected.
Shattered, scattered windshields, parts telling stories
No mouth could speak, no eye could behold.

Engine shuddered, steaming,
But the brain box stood.
Unshattered, unscattered.
Still engaging. Still selecting gear.

It was ghastly,
Yes.
Blood, memento of fatality, on the ground,
Fear, reflex to fatal scene in the eyes.

But never fatal.
Life held.
Breath remained.
Purpose intact. Motor repair to brand state assured

We shook, shuddered,
We paused,
Then we remembered HIS assurance:

WE MOVE TO MOVE Majestically, to God's glory alone.
