Ghost Of Bones Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Ghost Of Bones

Ghost of bones
Skeleton without heart
Bones that creak of age
Ah Age!
Ah Time!
Tempus esse!

Wonderful
Wonderful eyes of the valley
Tears of dews
Night rains of thin drop
Sliced:
As Time passes, so Verses

The Crowd heard and rising nodded.

Fantôme d'os
Squelette sans coeur
Des os qui grincent avec l'âge
Ah l'âge!
Ah le temps!
Tempus esse!

Formidable
Merveilleux yeux de la vallée
Larmes de rosée
Pluies nocturnes de fine goutte
Découpé en tranches:
Comme le temps passe, ainsi les versets

La foule entendit et se leva hocha la tête

The woods are cunning
And
The woods are whistling
Beauty in these corners thrives
Hidden and silent in the drunken night.

The Owl is garrulous to night; discover what to hide.

There too, too much of Beauty.

Too deep, too deep and sunk, too wild.
