Ghosts Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

Ghosts

specters

Do you believe in ghosts?
I do, but not of monks and little girls
I live in a converted stable
And sometimes I see the donkey
But it doesn't see me or understand
It is a ghost.
My dog used to come for a visit when
I tried to stroke it the dog wasn't there.
No, I don't believe in human ghosts and if baffles
Me if anyone is afraid of a little girls
Walking down the hall with a lit candle in her
Tiny hands, she probably tries to find the loo.
