A Cairo Rose Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

A Cairo Rose

Rating: 2.9

A Cairo Rose

Lily white was his shirt
A red rose sprung from his chest,
It grew bigger and wider,
Too heavy for the man who fell into the dust;
The rose liquefied.
Around him an air of stillness.

As death is portrayed here, so true, an excellent poem on this subject but very very sad! 5 Stars full

Magical and vivid, a subtle portrait of death as stillness closed life. Deeply profound.
