Gilded Birdcage Poem by Brian Stafford

Gilded Birdcage

I entered a gilded birdcage,
and you flew into my arms;
From the moment I saw you,
I was taken by your charms;

Caught up in enjoyment,
its amazing how time flies;
A weakness and a pleasure,
when I looked into your eyes;

Arriving not optimistic,
a dance would do no harm;
I never thought for a second,
you would be on my arm;

It was the start of a journey,
that was pleasure to behold;
Moments like finding treasure,
a love story, waiting to be told.
