Girl Child Poem by Sanjana Kottapalli

Girl Child

"Its a girl child", cried her grandmother,
But her father smiled brightly seeing his daughter
He knew he always wanted a princess.
She was brought up as dad's girl,
For her dad's eyes she was always a pearl,
as pure as drop of dew on leaf.
One day she was grown up as a successful women,
Her father looked into eyes of his mother
Saying he is proud to have a daughter.
And soon the supersitions were proved wrong!
The family was recognised by his daughter's name! !
