Girls Poem by Imari Davis

i wrote this for the gals
who grin and smirk in the halls
but gossip at the lunch table
the girls who say
'i feel so ugly'
although they are not able
to feel this way
they simply like
to mock their broken friends
with crooked smiles
and shattered hearts
and dirty blonde split ends
a poem for all the ladies
who love a good group natter
but when another girl comes in
they all run out of chatter
i wrote this little rhyme
for chicks who like to joke
and poke some fun at friends
except it's not fun that you poke
but a tiny little hole
right into her skin
over and over
again and again
and when she can't look in
the mirror
and see that girl
the one she was before
i hope you stop
and think about your actions
a little more
