Gladys Glover - Jimmy Boone Poem by Jim Boone

Gladys Glover - Jimmy Boone

</> Gladys Glover

Has a sign - many signs after being down and out.
The “average American girl is unusual” and this
One had spunk and gumption to spare

Jimmy Boone

Is still a kid, but he can relate to this screen gem
Because this unusual boy-likes-boy/man – “Will you
Stop that kind of talk, you bad boy”, IS going to
Be the best little boy in town - on the planet
Turn your head and watch if you must.

Gladys found her true-love in a cute Lemmon
With spunk and gumption to spare and share

Jimmy B. is going to find his true-love, no matter
How long it takes, no matter how long he (we)
Have to be “the best” for you, or you, or you.

“Some day my Prince will come, or even a frog
Will do, if he has spunk and gumption to share.

1955
