Global Warming Poem by Tsani Jones

Global Warming

Rating: 5.0

It started in her lips-
Shifted the world on its axis,
Dumped the earth into a mess
Of loose soil and quivering rock.

The passion of the thought melts
The deepest craters of ice,
Floods the lowlands for
A heart's new life.

Washes the sediment to the place
That feeds the tulips
And provides the hillsides of Provence
With ethereal lavender glory.

The change was not sudden,
It awaited the eruption,
Patiently sat dormant for
Fire and brimstone to rise-

A magma that swept everything in
Its path-
Burn the chaff
And leave the pure in its wake.

When it came, it was done.
Denial was a foregone conclusion.
When it was done, it began,
And the evolution does not die.

Love, Passion, Fire
Her heat breaks the bonds,
Melts the hardest metal,
Makes it all real and alive.

'Two paths diverged in a wood,
And I took the one less traveled...'
Bullshit.
Frost was a babbling fool.

The road I was meant for is the path
I have set myself on...
Guided by the moon herself,
Enflamed by the sun.

I have no map.
I have no compass.
But I shall find my way
To my ultimate destination.

Her lips are my only breadcrumbs.
