Goa Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Goa

Rating: 3.5

Goa,
Christian Goa, Catholic Goa,
Portuguese Goa,
I love it no doubt,
The girl with the guitar
Playing, singing,
Commemorating sea life
Spent on the coasts and beaches,
But I may not the Inquisition
When the people forcibly converted,
The mathas were damaged and wiped out
On this point not at all,
Had they respected it all,
I would have appreciated definitely,
But the executions, imprisonment of
As for religion, sect, creed,
I cannot, cannot appreciate it,
Religious conversions strictly
I cannot admire,
But the architectures and buildings
And goodness of the last governor-general
No words to praise them.
