Ink stained paper wearing thin
Deciphered squiggles to the rim
Of all those worlds dreamed to be
Filled with plans we've yet to see
Imaginations running wild
Poured on paper as a child
A different time, a different take
So in need of an escape.
Now buried deep with notes unseen
Of things we wish were just a dream

Come with me, you young mind
It's not what you want to find
But life out here in years that passed
Has been built so it will last

With people that live in you
In past, present, future too
Echoes of them filter your eyes
Cover your ears, answer the why's
With sweetened remarks, insightful sounds
Protecting you in nurturing grounds

The dreams you've seen may not come true
Because life and love take hold of you
And drag you out of desperation,
Of time alone in contemplation
To the right now where you rest
On the floor in presents test
Chaos scattered in written form
Surrounding you from dusk to dawn

Stand up now child and leave it be
Burn it all, there's more to see

Ink stained paper wearing thin
Flames consume the thoughts withn
