God Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

God

Forgive me
For the sins I've done against you
I understand why you'd lock the door and shut me out
Why you wouldn't let me in

You were right
Our love was poison, toxic
But only because we let it happen
We let outside voices to be heard
And look at what happened
A disaster, only revivable when we start over
This is where the good things start
After the violent storm has passed
After the sunset has go down and pass
The good things that lasts

We adored this love
It was a ritual of passion
A daily worship as if its a god
And you were my religion
Like an atheist coming back to God
I swear, no matter where I stray, I'll come back searching for you
(Do you feel the same?)

In the dark, I'd look for your soul
Even if I were to go blind, I'd touch you
And recognize in this total darkness
I'll come back, even if I come crawling back into your arms

This faith of mine comes back stronger
With every trials I face
I may fail, I may win
But I'll face the future even bolder

Even if God doesn't exist
I swear, in God's honest truth, and in my being poor
I can only offer you my love
And my love to give
