God and the soldier
All men adore
In time of trouble,
And no more;
For when war is over
And all things righted,
God is neglected -
The old soldier slighted.
Just as an FYI this Poem was scrawled in a sentry box on the British holding of Gibraltar and is probably one of the most famous poems used on UK remembrance day. While not American - and British - it used quite often here in the USA.
A small yet meaningful poem. Thanks a lot.
