God is not to be explored—
no compass finds the sun at noon,
no lamp needed to look for
the sun in the day.
The fools wander,
tracing the sky with their eyes,
to catch stars already there.
They prod at the horizon—
as if the distant could be measured,
They're like fools who deny—
the existence of a river—
when they live on its water.
Still, they turn the soil,
pressing seeds for answers,
demanding proof of spring's arrival.
As if the rose, in its blooming,
ever sought an audience.
Life unfurls quietly,
without need for witness.
The garden hums in its becoming,
whether or not we listen.
Rest your feet.
The path will take you where—
it has always gone.
To know is to let go of the map,
to walk as though the horizon were—
an old friend waiting in the distance.
Truth does not lie beyond the road.
It is the road.
It has been underfoot all along.
