God's Newest Star Poem by Natasha Foster

God's Newest Star

Rating: 5.0

Though she was known as Sky,
She became God's newest star today.
She rests peacefully on high,
But not much can keep the pain at bay.

I love her dearly,
She was my baby girl.
I love her so sincerely;
My worst nightmare did unfurl.

This is for Sky,
God's most precious star.
For her, I do cry;
But she lights up my soul like a candle in a mason jar.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I had to put my St. Bernard/mix, Sky, to sleep today.
I cried like I haven't cried in a long time...
I love her so much.

Thanks. I just thought that after they initially put her down, she became one of the stars and that she's up in Heaven waiting for me.

I'm so sorry that you had to do that. One of the most painful things on earth.
