God’s Untold Love, Retold Poem by Dr John Celes

God’s Untold Love, Retold

God made the oases with water much,
So that the date trees grow in desert climes;
God made the oak tree mammoth for all birds
To perch and build their nests and sing with joy;

God made the mountains high with snow-clad peaks,
Where clouds and stars appear to look so near;
God made the plankton, sea-weeds grow in sea,
So that the fish can eat, and swim freely.

God hid the gems and precious metals deep,
So that the lazy man can’t easily peep;
God made the sand on beaches very small,
And yet the sea waves kiss them, one and all.

God made the vast expanse of sea to gleam
By day and night under the sun’s moon’s beam;
God made the forests dark with undergrowth
And thick, for wild beasts stay away from man.

God made the hills and vales with shrubs and moss,
And rivers, inland lakes where fishes swim;
God made man’s forehead sweat fall on the ground,
And blesses the tilled soil, as crops abound.

God gave man his blessings and grace untold,
So that his soul seeks truth forev’r like gold;
God made the universe so very large,
So that his clay-made man might look with awe.

God made the earth the only place for man
To live in peace and walk the righteous road;
God made each man with soul and conscience
To wonder, accept, enjoy what God made.

God made the after-life for man with Him,
But devils make him sin and turn life grim;
God made his only Son to take the cross
To save sinners who repent with remorse.

God made all things man needs for life on earth,
But man seeks pleasures that deny heaven;
God wants man back with soul in purity,
But sinfulness lurks in his mind and heart.

God wants all men to keep his ten tenets
But devils goad men break all God’s commands;
God warns mankind with dire consequence,
But man is blind and does not heed or fear.

God’s love abounds and so he forgives man,
Despite his blunders, and sins grievous most;
God wants his semblance man to be holy,
Because he himself is holy and pure.

God loves to see man in heaven he made,
Because he gave a soul that cannot fade;
God blesses works of man by immense grace,
But devils mislead man and human race.
