God Was Merciful Poem by Gary James Smith

God Was Merciful

Rating: 5.0

God Was Merciful

God was merciful to me a sinner
He brought me safe into the fold
When I was lost He came to find me
Greatest story ever told
He came seeking for the lost one's
All the sheep who'd gone astray
The good Shepherd kindly leads them
Praise God He led me all the way

Now too I am seeking
Some lost soul with whom to share
The glorious message of the gospel
And covering that seeking
With fervent prayer
Lord keep an alertness in my heart
To speak a word in due season
For Thy glory this I pray
May it be my utmost reason

What a joy to be in service
In the service of the King
To present our bodies as a living sacrifice
For it's to Him we owe everything
Count the cost O fellow follower
Considering the price He had to pay
Humble Thyself before the Master
Then begin a faith filled day!
