Gods Poem by Matt Kephart

the morning and evening star
mother of love and war
goddess of the night
yet radiating light
god of light
whose daughters uphold whats right
the fiery sun
alone but for one
i sought to enlighten
those who were frightened
to bring humanity to mankind
and maybe to find
someone with whom to share
a lifetime of worry and care
a companion until the end
someone who would always be a friend
and if the gods would decree
that friends such as we
should forever be away
then all i have to say
that is not right
and against them we will fight
for those gods are not true
and deserve no worship from you
