do the gods we praise
bring us this pain?
"cherish it."
a world of disdain
they led us to a corner
hunched over, overdosed on slaughter
a universe without wonder.
and we make saviours
from men
who awake us from this slumber.
they play the role they died for
they herd you into their void
and teach you how to snore
in exchange for the fort
they helped you to uncover.
the avenues you thought you owned
are guerrilla attacks, there is no debt owed.
redemption requires no other.
they need death to be forgotten
suicidal lollypop ladies
nemesis of the lazy
I look good this time of year without her
without her generals sanction defeat
my room smells sweet
i have vaporised my projections
inertia buries my connections
against my will, willingly
the cliche of skulls march openly
"now you see their end! " a mistake
you're a better person for knowing
apparently,
such hypocrites hate washing up.
tired of giving mudlarks hope
tired of giving shapes weight
time washes over faster than ever,
smudging the concrete I contemplate
yet faces are still felt staring
hiding their countenance
vanquishing atrocities of deceit
fine by me, as long as
repentance has no fee
and poetic revolution
never runs on repeat;
i'm inclined to believe
she has no one else to meet
the vague home
sat in both directions
offers no arms capable to reach
the only journey you care to take,
blessed with secrets, no deal could be made
not even humour could forge a seed to persuade
beatified imposition
across all sectors
limitations we seek
the unchangeable fate
we wish we never altered
arrives early enough to be late
architects are executed, expeditions to the arctic
start, rabbi's begin looting, sacrificing the dark
with shootings which shake the street
and scrape sky scrapers out the silence
recoiling from the deep, each brick is laid
and the path is made, the beatings in our sleep
are stopped by a mother's grief.
not by her tears but the army of people
revived in the exhumation of her principles
followed afterwards, flushed out by the chants
"There is no resolution! "
and
"Nature is immune to chance! "
and this continues
til there are no more words left to chase
