Going Away Poem by Elliott Rosenberg

Going Away

live, love and go beyond the valley ashore.
For tomorrows yielding journey has yet to flower galore.

Last night I walked in silence and bathed my skin in darkness,
to which I sojourned at sunrise,
And left no shadow behind.

Decided to be a fool and long I stood untrue.
Letting the better of me become the nightly brew.

And yet I felt remorse as I left my heart for blue.
For I hearkened the pain away of the love I never knew.
