Gone Poem by Caroline Shie

Gone

Rating: 4.0

White single blocks enveloped within a frame
Random lines and curves creased on a slight exertion
Yet a split second later and the next
They were gone: hidden, enclosed, long gone.

Each breath added a new beat to the heart
As the silent songs wavered through the air, piercing every tear
Yet a split second later and the next
They were gone: hidden, enclosed, long gone.

Through unknown passages of another, with no volume control
Reverberating gracefully, they danced on broken pathways
Yet a split second later and the next
They were gone: hidden, enclosed, long gone.

Beautiful, not another word could be uttered
Mesmerized, not another movement could be forced
Frozen, not another figure could be stirred
Gone, not another melody could be heard.
