Gone Poem by Matt Render

Gone

It's not a cause
For alarm
He's lost
And he has been for so long
Gone
Gone until tomorrow

Gone
For so long
And don't ever recall
The way he looked
Bewildered, appalled
Every time he
Took the fall
For crimes he was neither
Culpable nor capable of

Gone until tomorrow
He can never repay
The time that he borrowed
With the spoiled fruits
He harvested from sorrow
The bruises he left
The hearts he hollowed
The blood he swallowed
Every day is his last
And he'll be gone till tomorrow
