Gone But Not Forgotten Poem by Ray Hansell

Gone But Not Forgotten

The news that you've been waiting for
Sadly, has arrived
They said that late last night
That was when she died

It seems it's always tragic
To learn someone has died
Of course your first response
Is to gasp, than maybe cry

Even though we knew eventually
This would be the result
Still when you hear the news
In your heart the pain is felt

Always remember them with joy
Never look ahead with sorrow
Remember the healing can start
As soon as tomorrow

I know it will take some time
This everybody knows
No need to walk around forever
With sorrow that always shows

It's alright for you to mourn
It's what we all must do
But don't let your mourning
Take control of you

The sun will always shine again
The grey clouds will soon part
You will feel whole again
With happiness in your hear
