Gone So Suddenly Poem by Richard Masters

Gone So Suddenly

Rating: 5.0

One day I was gone so suddenly,
with no chance to say goodbye.
One day I was gone so suddenly,
and I didn’t even know why.

One moment I was in the land of the living,
the next moment I was in the sky.
My spirit was suspended above the earth,
as I watched my body die.

I watched in unspeakable horror,
as my life was taken away,
And I wish that I could stay on this earth,
at least another day.

If I could I surely would and this is what I’d say,

I love you dear so very much,
and I’ll try to keep in touch.
God has called me to leave this world
and to meet Him in the sky.

Where my spirit can be set free,
so please love don’t you cry.
Because I’ll be watching over you,
your each and every move.
I’ll be cheering you on whenever you win,
and consoling you whenever you lose.
So although I’m not there for you physically,
I’m there even though you can’t see.
Cause I’m now a part of the moon and the stars
and the clouds of the sky and the sea.

I’m alive in the memories
you have of you and me in your mind and in your heart.
Although you cannot feel my hand,
my touch will never part.

So I know the pain of missing me,
has sometimes slowed you down,
But don’t dismay,
I hear you pray and my essence is all around.

So live your life to it’s fullest degree,
because we will meet again.
And remember although I’m not here to say,
my love will never end.
