Gone Too Soon
I cried every night.
A million tears fell.
Still my heart wasn't right.
Gone Too Soon
I did what I could
To have faith to keep my days strong
Gone Too Soon
I gained maturity
I had to face grief and life
And life turned a chapter
Gone Too Soon
I just tried to breathe
Knowing you were in a better place
Would make me happy
Gone Too Soon
My world turned upside down
My family became different
My routine rearranged
Gone Too Soon
I had to learn to be content
To stand on my own two feet
To take charge of my state of mind
So that's where I am now
At this stage of my life
Still uncertain and alone
Still coping with strife
And oh how I wish that
Things were different
That I could change time
To a time in the past
Gone too soon
