Good -Bye To An Old Friend; 'Hello To A New Me

Rating: 5.0

My dearest friend, it's time to say good-bye,
It’s so hard for me to write this, I would rather shrivel up and die.

I never thought I could do this, to let you go this way,
But your self-destructive behavior has put me in disarray.

We all make choices in our lives, and yours are not healthy you see,
The way you live your life, it really stresses me.

This doesn't mean I don't love you; you will always be in my heart,
It doesn't mean I'm better then you; it's just time for us to part.

I’m crying as I write this, it’s sad but also true; you have never been there for me,
Like I have been there for you.

I’m watching you lose everything, your freedom, children, your life,
You sleep with any man; hoping one will take you as his wife

I listen when you talk to me; I’m hearing what you say,
But when I need to talk to you, my words get in your way.

People are always pointing out that you’re really not my friend,
They are right by the choices you make, so it’s time that we just end.

I’m going through a transition, watching the things you do,
So I’m trying harder than ever, not to end up like you.

Some of the shocking things you've done have brought me to my knees
I hope someday you'll wise up, and with yourself be pleased.

It's time to go goodbye old friend, I’m doing what's best you see
Saying goodbye to an old friend, and hello to a new me.
