Goodbye Poem by Just Becca

Goodbye

There she stood waving him goodbye
he turned his head for one last look
then he turned around
she watched his body covered in the army green
walk away as proud as can be
the months went by like years
she stood at the wondow every night
just waiting for his beautiful face
she looked down at the diamond on her finger
and remembered his promise
six turned to twelve and twelve into twenty four
she wept between his letters
laughed between his words
she woke up to a knock on her door
she walked down the stairs
dreading each step
she looked out her window
saw the car with red flashing lights
she opened her door
the words spilled from the officers mouth
she woke up standing in the rain
with black all around
his body lay in a wooden box
in front of her
what does she do now?
