Goodbye Poem by Sierra Evans

Goodbye

I can hear the quick pace of your feet as you seem to float over the snow. I watched as you bury your nose down into you r scarf and as you stuff your hands into the pockets of your coat. I l is ten as you hum a song, unfamiliar to me, and though iI cannot see your moth, I know that you are smiling. I feel your hand as it clasps mine, catching it in mid swing. I turn around and see you, rosy cheeked and red-nosed. You smile at me, and look away. I remember as I walk now, alone, when those times were virgin as the freshly fallen snow. Now, as I walk, even the wind stops. Hushing the soft melody of the pine trees. The world seems to be waiting for you, and there I stand alone, waiting with the world, for you. Until the snow is no longer new, and the winter turns to spring my soul awaits where we said goodbye.
