Goodbye Is Not Forever Poem by Nick Downer

Goodbye Is Not Forever

I hear you in the darkness,
But cannot see your face.
I feel upon my tender cheek,
Your robe of silk and lace.
You used to be my mother,
But years ago you died.
You left me only with a dad,
And I very often cried.
But you are still with me,
Even though you are not here.
You take away my sadness,
And you take away my fear.
I now know and understand,
That we are still together.
For I have learned the meaning of,
Good-bye is not forever.
