Grandad Poem by karissa bristow

Grandad

The light will guide you safely
to a better place
where angels fly,
you guard and shelter us
with your wings of love
and wrap them around us
to keep us safe
I carry you in my heart
and there you will always be
im so proud of you
for fighting a battle,
for so long
but dear grandad
you had to leave us,
heaven needed an angel

Dont be scared dear grandad,
your pain and suffering has gone,
as i stand beside your coffin,
i kiss you goodnight,
sweet dreams and sleep tight

In loving memory of Grandad, who died in 2010 from cancer

Pretty deep. I think that you should stay away from common expressions though 'heaven needed an angel, but the expirence from this feels so real.
