Grandma's Gone Poem by malique reese

Grandma's Gone

Rating: 5.0

Grandma's gone
No strength just weakness at least on the
Outside

Long curly brown hair with grey strands falling
Out

We took care of her until the very
End

Long flowing dresses that were soiled
Every night

Sleepless nights filled with pain

Morning's silent until it rained

Bones and skin as thin as sticks
Skinner and skinner as the clock
Ticks

No food, up chucks
No water down thrusts

No more long walks
Wheelchairs

No more smoking
Pancreatic cancer

3 daughters,2 sons
Heartbroken

9 grandchildren
Confused and scared

Blank mornings no sound
Still sheets, eyes closed
Sobs and cries all day long
She's gone

She was gone

My grandma's gone
Funeral was loud full of tears and sorrow
As I looked in the casket there she was
Her body was still so cold and glassy
Her facial expression always happy

She's in a better place
Oh what I would give to see her face

As a new day I come upon
I sit on her doorstep I just have to remember

She's gone.
