Grandpa's Pumpkin Poem by VICTOR Smith

Grandpa's Pumpkin

Rating: 3.5

Grandpa's Pumpkin

Little Kate asked grandpa
Where babies come from
Grandpa told her that four years before
He'd walked through the door
To find that Grandma wasn't there anymore
That she'd gone to be with the Lord
And he told Kate that he'd missed love,
Had such a yearning, such a need
And one day, crying, he found a pumpkin seed
He planted it, prayed, and told God he'd wait,
And a few months later, up came Kate,
His little pumpkin who'd erased his pain
And that he'd never want for love again
