Forget the smile that I put on everyday
Let go of the words I say when I tell you I'm fine
Because that is lie that I've even convinced myself is true
Looking onto my eyes won't help you
For even my pupils have been shaded in
Hiding the anguish I battle every waking moment
For is it not my eyes that lead me into despair
Forcing me to keep the doors shut
Hiding the secrets and desires within
Keeping that wardrobe closed
Barring the skeletons from manifesting
So forget the smile that I wear everyday
Let go of the words I say when I tell you I'm fine
And listen to the thrum of my heartbeat
For as fast as it goes
It tells of my inner struggles
