Grasping Hands Poem by jess deaves

Grasping Hands

You resent and yet with grasping hands
Pouring out these ridiculous demands
I feel sorry, but youre not a little girl
You are part of the reason that had to unfurl

You get jealous of simple things, being far to possessive
What did you think that act was going to be impressive?
Yet i feel guilt for you i am part of this
A tiny factor in what went amiss

You didnt realise what you had
And now that silly petty head of yours is mad
I cant believe some of the things that you do
The things that you put him through

You can say what you want about me
On some of them i might even agree
But your demends on him were way of mark
This stupid little power trip on which you embark

I know this isnt all of your doing
And this wasnt the path you planned on persuing
But i cant feel regret for falling in love
The one i put above all elso and could never let go of

One day i hope you see it wasnt right and i wish you well
This must be putting you through hell
Im sorry for this but i cant help how we feel
Its just something we cant conseal
