Let's make America great once again
But, then I thought when,
When exactly was that date or time
When there was no hate, or poverty, or crime.
Was it when women didn't have the right to vote
Or when a check in their name couldn't be wrote,
Or when property they couldn't own
And when equal rights wasn't heard of or known.
Or was it when we were a racist country
When they hung blacks from a tree,
When we had segregation
Was that when we were a great nation.
Or was it before we had food stamps
And before we held Americans in determent camps,
Or was it when we supported and fought for slavery
Or was it when we fought against it bravely.
Was it around world war 1 or maybe world war 2
Or was it during the Korean or Vietnam wars I wish I knew,
Or was it during the Great Depression
Maybe it was when we had a recession.
As I look and read inside our many history books
Was it when greedy millionaires and billionaires were proud crooks,
When you preach about making America great again
Please, tell me when?
