Green Light Poem by Bragg Adocio

Green Light

Rating: 2.7

For just another moment
Last turn before goodnight
I thought I'd stretch it out a bit and parked there at the light
A line behind me honking, single fingers on there hands
Silence in that front seat as I reached over for her hand.
For just another second, avoiding a goodnight kiss
I slowed before I reached the light
Hoping the green was the one I'd miss.
But the yellow light betrayed me, and never came to show
The Red could not delay me, because the light was stuck on go.
I don't mind if she hates me, or if the traffic will honk and cuss
If she wanted to be home on schedule than she shouldve taken the bus
But no she wasn't angry,
she wanted the moment too
A long deep kiss, a summers bliss in the middle of the winter cool
So here we are ticking off a hundred people just one turn from goodnight kiss.
We Put in park our pumkin carrige so we can enjoy our midnight bliss.
