Every New Year is a dawn miraculous
Worthy to be saluted with reverence awesome
It is an anointed, benign voice
Springing up from silence serene
Radiance riding on wings of blessedness
A leap heavenwards, exultant waltz
Accompanied by spirited notes, lit with bliss
In fact, a birth offering options, longings
We petition the mighty powers dominant:
"Be benevolent, let not our waltz slip into
Steps wearisome or descend into the netherworlds foul"
