The Anguished Cry

Deepen my sight inward, O all-seeing Eye!
Will I die of fright,
Is it why thou shrouds my view out of thy compassion infinite?
Soothing sights are there no longer for me
Whenever and wherever I turn around
I am struck blind
By thunder stroke of the relentless Devil
O Lord! Or is it the thunder stroke unleashed by you
Aiming precisely at me, the poor sinner that I am?
How do you judge the guileless children torn from their helpless mothers
And killed brutally, stifling their breath with all they hold dear?
Thou art Ocean of compassion, hast thou ...

The Province Of Babes

Your innocence may trap you, O, my baby
Yet innocence fills the air
With irresistible sweetness seductive
Which even saints might envy
The sweetness the victorious noble
Have lost repeatedly and reclaimed heroically
That is the way sinners turn into saints
Probably darkness is driven to exile
Quite dexterously by militant mortals
