Grounded Poem by Jordan Meyer

Grounded

Everything around me is abundant with life
plentiful in soul
and lavish with breath
But me, I am still with failure.

Silenced by my own mortality
I surrender to the inevitable
The wind gives me a heavenly sensation
and disguises my true identity
But the rain reveals the reason for my destruction

I witness others grow into their new found freedom
as I sway with the remaining motions of life.
This vision of myself is never changing
and I am forever stuck.
